"Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again, and bring their friends"
Walt Disney
I love that quote. This could be the mantra or "vision" within any organization, or, it could be your personal vision. Imagine, radical focus on doing the absolute best you can for your guests, wether they be internal or external to your organization.
This profound quote on leadership transcends any type or level of education, it is simple, straight forward and in true Disney fashion, is all about the show.
Jeffrey Hendren is a Human Resources Professional with advanced focus and experience on learning and leadership development spanning 15 years. With a love of travel and exploring, his career has literally covered the world of people development on land, air and sea. Jeffrey takes it to heart when someone is told they cannot do something or perhaps not capable. As a child Jeffrey was diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), struggled with a learning disability and was told to lower his aim on career choices. Emboldened by this childhood advice he decided that the only one who could limit his future was himself.
A published artist by 16, homeowner by 18, Jeffrey decided that life could have no limits if you work for it and prove to yourself that yes, you CAN. A fluke opportunity at 18 introduced him to the world of adult education, he was hooked. Helping others to learn, develop and achieve their dreams became a critical focus that has moulded the rest of his career and continues to this day. Spending 11 years in the airline industry, Jeffrey was a frequent invited guest speaker at global training symposiums in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Zurich and Vancouver.
An open minded innovator, Jeffrey endeavours to move the function of people relations and development forward in an effort to improve morale, effectiveness and efficiency. He takes ownership of the idea that "HR" is not a scary word and that effective HR professionals are supportive coaches and not traffic cops and that the adult learning environment should be fun, effective and useful to both the employee and the enterprise.
When not working, consulting or collaborating in some corner of the globe Jeffrey resides in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada where he enjoys the west coast lifestyle in a four season playground.
Of course, standard notation that Jeffrey's views are his, and his alone. They do not necessarily reflect the views of his employer, customers, clients, etc etc etc.
