Leading During COVID-19

How do we lead successfully during a pandemic? As we are headed into the second month of various levels of isolation around the globe let's pause to remember one of the most critical factors on leading others during a crisis, communication.
Leadership is a choice, nobody is born a competent or effective leader. Often, it is the "small things" we do, sometimes even the easy things that can have the greatest and most powerful impact on those who look to us during a time of crisis.

How would you rate your communication that you are providing your employees? If you are an employee yourself, how would you rate or describe the communication you are receiving from your leadership team. Comment and share in the comments below.

Stay safe, stay healthy.

if there is one thing we saw during this pandemic, we saw if we elected the right leaders or not. Yes, all of them are doing some actions, but we need intelligent actions right now. People are dying and we are supposed to see government officials who are after the idea of saving lives of their people. I am not really convinced with how Trump has been dealing with the pandemic, that’s why he must exert more effort to serve its people.

I am one of "those" cruise ship employees you allude to.. It has honestly been so hard. We are isolated and in lockdown in our separate cabins which is already so hard but on my ship I feel that we are not getting true information or we get no information at all. I sometimes think what we are told is to make us feel like we are being too complaining and should be grateful for what we are getting. Meanwhile I talk to friends on others ships and they are having a total different experience. They are also in lockdown but they are getting lots of information and updates and when concerns are raised they are getting answers right away. Honest communication can go a long way.

It is true. Having extra time on my hands and talking with friends and colleagues some who are still working and some who are not working such a simple act of making sure to communicate in an on-going basis directly correlates to ones mental health during these hard times.

I just saw a post on facebook from a cruise ship performer that was stuck onboard for weeks. I understand that there is only so much that the cruise lines can do but I am left wondering if more consistent communication would help.
